1. Who is responsible?
Deodar BV, trading as De Zevende Hemel, is responsible for handling your reservation and contact information.
Enterprise number: BE 1019.676.470
Walplein 6, 8000 Bruges, Belgium

2. Requesting a table or contacting us
We use your name, email address, telephone number, party size, preferred date and time, and any comment to handle your request and reply. Preparing or fulfilling a reservation at your request relies on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. General enquiries rely on our legitimate interest in assisting visitors (Article 6(1)(f)).
Our own reservation form asks for your party size, preferred date and time, and contact details. You review a summary before sending a request. Your reservation is final only after confirmation by the restaurant. You can also book by telephone. Please do not enter medical or other sensitive information in free-text fields.
When you click “Send request”, we store your request in our own reservation records. Authorised staff can view and handle it. A request number appears on screen immediately. This does not confirm a table. Once a member of staff confirms your reservation, we automatically send a confirmation email with your reservation details in the language of your request: Dutch, French or English. We save that language with your request for this purpose. You can reply to the email to contact us.
3. Visiting the website
Hosting and security providers may process technical information, including your IP address, browser, visit time and requested page, to deliver the website and prevent abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website available and secure.
This website has no advertising pixels, audience analytics or embedded social media. Images and fonts load from the website itself. External links, such as Google Maps or Artsay, open only after you click; their privacy policies then apply.
4. Cookies and language preferences
Your storage choice is used for up to 180 days. We remember your language only if you select “Remember language”. You can withdraw that consent through “Cookie settings” in the footer. See the cookie policy for details.
5. Who receives information?
Staff handling your request and providers for our reservation system, email, hosting and security may receive information needed for their tasks. This website is provided through OpenAI Sites. Your reservation details are not automatically used for newsletters or advertising.
Processing outside the European Economic Area must have appropriate safeguards, such as an applicable adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. Contact us for information about recipients and safeguards that apply to your data.
We use Resend for email. The service processes sender, recipient, subject, message content, attachments and delivery information to receive and send messages. Only authorised managers can access our mailbox. Messages are displayed as text, without loading external images or tracking pixels.
6. How long is information kept?
Reservation records are used for up to 180 days after the requested visit date. They are then automatically removed the next time the system is used. Authorised staff can delete them earlier. Separate correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle your enquiry, visit or complaint, or where a legal obligation or specific dispute requires it. Backups follow the hosting provider’s retention periods.
To limit form abuse, we temporarily use a code cryptographically derived from the IP address and a counter. The reservation system does not keep a readable IP address for this purpose. The counter is active for up to one hour and is then deleted the next time the system is used.
Local browser storage is used for up to 180 days as explained in the cookie policy. You can delete it earlier in your browser.
Resend retains email data for up to 30 days under our free plan. A copy of the message text is stored in our private administration for the purposes described above. Attachments remain available through Resend for up to 30 days; necessary correspondence may be retained separately.
7. Your rights
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction and, where applicable, portability of your information. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Email info@restaurantdezevendehemel.be. We normally respond within one month and will tell you if a lawful extension is necessary. The website does not make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
You may also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
